FIN (Helsinki) Birth Cohort Data Access
The FIN (Helsinki) birth cohort was collected for a genetic study of spontaneous preterm birth and includes more than 1,600 mother–child pairs from Helsinki University Hospitals (2004–2014). Participants are of Finnish descent, and gestational age was determined via crown-rump length at the first ultrasound screening (10–13 weeks). Overall, 2,962 blood samples were genotyped, with high-quality genotype data available for 1,170 mother–child pairs.
This dataset is an invaluable resource for understanding the genetics of gestational duration, preterm birth, and related phenotypes. Access to the FIN data requires approval by our Leadership Committee to ensure appropriate use and protection of participant privacy. Researchers interested in using the dataset for bona fide studies can either contact our program manager Xin Tang at Xin.Tang@cchmc.org or submit the application form below.
